The Matrix

Date: 2024
Dimensions: 100 x 100 cm

Description

Mr. Phantom explores the idea of reality as a carefully constructed simulation, using the symbolism of British royalty to make a broader statement. The figure in the painting, dressed in rich, traditional royal attire, sits on an elaborate throne. However, instead of a face, there is a screen filled with fragmented code. This screen represents the hidden digital framework that controls and manipulates our perceived reality. By merging the opulence of monarchy with the cold, impersonal nature of a computer screen, Mr. Phantom invites viewers to question the authenticity of the world around them, suggesting that what we see as power and tradition may merely be an illusion within the matrix.
