Todd Goldman turns an ordinary ice cream into something considerably less innocent with one perfectly chosen title. Bright yellow, candy colours and chunky black outlines give the painting the carefree simplicity of a childhood doodle, while the joke is very much aimed at the adults in the room. The three smiling scoops seem extremely comfortable with their unusual arrangement — nobody appears to be complaining. It’s Todd at his mischievous best: simple enough to understand instantly, naughty enough to make you look twice.
