Description

In Blind Faith, Mr Phantom dismantles the familiar symbolism of Lady Justice to examine the relationship between money, power and the law. Her eyes remain covered, yet the blindfold is formed from currency, suggesting that justice may be blinded not by impartiality, but by financial influence. From outside the composition, a suited hand quietly interferes with the scales, disturbing the balance without ever fully revealing the person responsible. The intervention shifts the work from allegory towards accusation, raising questions about who holds influence within systems designed to protect equality. Blind Faith ultimately challenges the assumption that justice remains neutral when power has the means to place a hand upon the scales.
